Galanthus elwesii 'The Spathely Horror' (dormant)
Galanthus elwesii 'The Spathely Horror' (dormant)
From a well-known garden colony of G. elwesii in Kencot, Oxfordshire, the source of multiple Sharmanian cultivars, one of my own. And its odd. Firstly the leaves are unusually narrow - facilitated by the misplacement of the spathe membrane onto the margins. The remaining spathe valves are petaloid and streaked in green. Flowers otherwise normal. A clump of this curiosity is quite a sight! Few.
