Galanthus elwesii 'Tubular Bells' (dormant)
Galanthus elwesii 'Tubular Bells' (dormant)
For all of you lovers of snowdroppy quirks, Andy Byfield's 'Tubular Bells' offered here for the first time, is an extraordinary curiosity with rush-like (canaliculate) foliage which manifest here as a pair of leaves wrapped around each other so tightly, the shoots look like small chop-stocks until the flower with double-marked inner segments finally emerges from the apex. I've never seen another snowdrop with this feature. Found in the garden in Kencott, Oxfordshire, which has been the source for several other notable introductions. ONE PER CUSTOMER, PLEASE.
