Galanthus 'Dangly Yellow' (dormant)
Galanthus 'Dangly Yellow' (dormant)
A collection by Peter Erskine from Monti Picentini in southern Italy with yellow overy and apical inner markings in the manner of the Sandersii Group, is sometimes offered under that name. In Erskine garden it threw a superior seedling that shares the distinctive widely splayed, almost prostrate foliage that speaks far more than G. nivalis under which is usually offered, than of G. reginae-olgae ssp. vernalis. Aaron Davis (pers.comm.) commented that both species intergrade there and the features which would normally separate them can be very blurred. A few of this gem.
